Dame Diana Rigg, star of The Avengers, the 007 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and Game of Thrones, has died aged 82.
The BBC has reported the news.l “She died peacefully early this morning. She was at home with her family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time,” her agent told the BBC.
Diana Rigg became world-famous for her role as Emma Peel in The Avengers, appearing opposite Patrick Macnee’s John Steed, and then co-starred with George Lazenby in the 1969 Bond movie, playing Tracy, who married 007 but was killed at the end of the film. Her other work included The Crimson Horror episode of Doctor Who, with her daughter Rachael Stirling, and Lady Olena Tyrell in HBO’s Game of Thrones.
