The team behind HBO’s successful Westworld series are working on a fresh Michael Crichton adaptation, Sphere.
The project is a collaboration between Kilter Films and Team Downey, who were responsible for the recent Perry Mason miniseries.
Crichton’s novel was written in 1987 and filmed with Dustin Hoffman and Sharon Stone in 1998. It follows a team of scientists who are tasked with investigating a spacecraft of alien origin found at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Denise Thé has penned the screenplay and will be executive producing.
