James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Paul Neinstein are working on a new version of The Nutty Professor, according to a report at Deadline.
Jerry Lewis co-wrote, directed and starred in the original movie, released n 1963, while Eddie Murphy appeared in multiple roles in a remake in 1996, which spawned a sequel four years later. There was an animated sequel to Lewis’s original in 2008, as well as a stage musical version in 2012.
The story is a parody of Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
