There’s a major cliffhanger to resolve – and a lot of plot threads to be tied up in the double-length finale for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD which brings its seven year run to an end this week. As Greg notes:
If I had to pick a word to sum up this double episode finale which wraps up seven seasons and indeed seven years of one of the most oddly persistent and difficult to quantify genre shows, I think it would be confusing.
There’s a lot to work out, and Greg sets the scene without major spoilers in his review here.

And this was what we said about the premiere:
Once you analyse SHIELD, there’s not a lot that has carried over from the films, bar the iconography and Agent Coulson. In that respect, while SHIELD may bring people in quicker, it’s going to need more than the surface gloss of this pilot to hold its audience.
Verdict: Enjoyable, slick but we need to care about these characters, and we’ve not really been given any reason to yet, bar their link to billion-dollar movies! 7/10
