The ninth Star Trek TV series* launches today, and it’s an animated spectacular, set on the USS Cerritos in the 24th Century. We’ve seen the animated adventures of Captain Kirk and crew, but this is a whole new crew – but set firmly in the world of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard. As Nick points out:
We’re not looking at the big, frontier-expanding stuff – there’s other series in the franchise who have got that covered – these are the more workaday adventures of smaller people, on a smaller craft, doing smaller things.
It’s a very different take on the final frontier, and you can read Nick’s full review here.
*(OK, it’s the 10th if you count Short Treks as a separate series!)
