Veep’s Paul Scheer is the latest to have the accolade of playing a Chief Engineer on Star Trek, following in the footsteps of James Doohan and Levar Burton.

He will voice Lt. Commander Andy Billups, the chief engineer on the USS Cerritos for Star Trek: Lower Decks which starts airing on CBS All Access on August 6.

Billups is expected to appear in all 10 episodes of the first season of the show, which follows the crew of the Cerritos rather than purely focusing on the bridge crew.
