If the name Margrave sounds familiar, it’s because he’s already turned up in the Big Finish Avengers tales – but in a story that’s actually a sequel to this one! John Dorney pens a prequel to his own earlier adaptation and provides the intrepid heroes with plenty of danger… (Sensibly, the name of the magician was changed – right is a panel from the original TV Comic strip)

Nicholas Asbury returns (or is that makes his first appearance) as Margrave the Magnificent – a title that fits the character’s ego, and leads to suitable repartee with Steed and Mrs Peel.

It’s the final story in this set of Avengers tales, directed by Samuel Clemens, and the tables are turned in the CD extras as the actors interview the director!
