Blumhouse Pictures and Ryan Murphy are teaming up to produce a screen version of Stephen King’s Mr Harrigan’s Phone, the first story in his most recent collection, If It Bleeds.
John Lee Hancock will write and direct the story about an iPhone that communicates with its owner beyond the grave. The feaure is expected to appear on Netflix.
The other stories in the book are also under consideration, with Rat optioned by Ben Stiller, and The Life of Chuck by Darren Aronofsky.
The main story in the collection is a sequel to The Outsider, and features characters introduced in the Mr Mercedes trilogy.
