Big Finish Original The Human Frontier is returning for a second set of adventures.

The first volume of the SF saga, created, written and directed by Nicholas Briggs, was released last month (read our review here).

Briggs told Sci-Fi Bulletin, “There’s been a really fantastic response to The Human Frontier across the board, and sales figures have been encouraging, so we wanted to let people know as soon as possible that the adventure will continue. It’s not giving too much away to say that The Human Frontier ends with a few question marks lingering, hinting this is much bigger than a four-hour mini-series, so we wanted to reassure those who are loving the opening series that there is more on the way. I’ve already started work on storylines and we hope to announce a release date soon, definitely one for next year. But for now, this is a great time for anyone who loves epic science fiction adventure to get on board with The Human Frontier.”

Star Pepter Lunkuse added, “I’m really grateful that people have enjoyed it. Series 2 means I get to work with some amazing people again but I’m also invested in the story so looking forward to see what happens next in the storyline.”

Lucy Briggs-Owen, who plays Nilly, noted,  “It’s super exciting that we get to do a second series – I just can’t wait to see what happens and where the story goes!”

Sci-Fi Bulletin has covered the release with interviews with Briggs (spoiler-free here; spoilered here), and stars Pepter Lunkuse, Genevieve Gaunt and Lucy Briggs-Owen.
