Given the delayed start of filming for the 2020/2021 season because of COVID-19, the CW has sensibly decided to scale back the crossover between the various DC shows next year.
The new seasons are anticipated to start in January, and will feature a crossover between Batwoman, in its second season, and the new Superman & Lois show.
“We’re still working on it. It will be a smaller event than usual, we’re only planning a two-hour event. We are talking about doing Superman and Batwoman together. There’s a lot of characters coming from our other shows,” the CW’s Mark Pedowitz explained. As a result of this season’s crossover, a lot of the heroes who were on separate worlds are now together.
Superman & Lois is designed as a 13-episode season. The CW expects to be running full length seasons, but extending into July or August because of the late start.
