According to an interview producer Charles Norton gave to Toby Hadoke as part of Fantom Films’ Dalek special this weekend, The Highlanders audiobook won’t be on the new version of The Power of the Daleks after all.
In a wide-ranging interview, Norton discussed the reasons for the new animation – with some stills from the revised version being displayed – and noted that The Highlanders had been planned to go on the discs – but there turned out not to be enough room on the DVD when the discs were being authored. It is hoped that the Frazer Hines version will appear on a later release.
Norton also confirmed that the Special Edition is part of a celebration of Patrick Troughton’s centenary this year.
