Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Hellraiser, based on The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker, looks set to hit the small screen.

David Gordon Green is lined up to direct the pilot and other episodes of the series for HBO, according to Deadline. The series will be penned by Mark Verheiden and Michael Dougherty, both of whom have multiple genre credits. The show will be an expansion of the mythology seen in the Hellraiser movies with Deadline noting, “Expect a revisit from Pinhead, the merciless leader of the Cenobites, the formerly humans-turned-demons that live in an extra-dimensional realm and are activated through a puzzle box called the Lament Configuration. The Cenobites come from hell to harvest human souls and keep balance between good and evil.”

This is not related to the Spyglass reboot of the franchise also in development.
