American writer and director Stuart Gordon, who wrote and helmed cult classics including Re-Animator, has died aged 72.
In addition to his horror work – which also included From Beyond and The Pit and the Pendulum – Gordon co-created the Honey, I Shrunk The Kids franchise (contributing to the small screen version as well as writer and director). He penned two teleplays to the Masters of Horror TV show, which he also directed. He co-wrote the story and directed Space Truckers.
His stage work was also highly acclaimed including Nevermore…An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe, and a musical version of Re-Animator.
