Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

David Wise, who contributed scripts to numerous animated series including the original Star Trek, has passed away.

Together with Russell Bates, Wise wrote How Sharper than a Serpent’s Tooth, which introduced Ensign Walking Bear to the Enterprise crew in the 1973/4 animated Trek show. He branched into live action scripting, penning episodes of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and Wonder Woman before returning to animation. He wrote for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, He-Man and Batman, among many others. He later wrote an episode of the Doctor Who spin-off, Gallifrey.
