The new Doctor Who-universe drama Sil and the Devil Seeds of Ardor has won its first festival prize.

The prestigious Calcutta International Cult Film Festival has announced Reeltime’s latest independent film has won the Web & New Media category. Calcutta is one of four festivals currently booked to show the drama by Philip Martin, which sees Nabil Shaban reprise his role as the villainous Sil from the Colin Baker era. The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction and Supernatural Festival, the WRPN.TV Global Webisode Competition, and the Cult Critic Movie Awards will also be showing the drama, while the win confirms that Reeltime have moved away from being seen as producing ‘fan films’.

Director and producer Keith Barnfather told Sci-Fi Bulletin, “This is such fantastic news. Sil and the Devil Seeds of Ardor was a marvellous collaborative effort … really this award is for everyone involved.”
