Alan Pattillo, writer, script editor and director for multiple Supermarionation series, has died at the age of 90.
Pattillo directed the opening episode of Thunderbirds – Trapped in the Sky – setting the template for International Rescue’s adventures. He directed seven episodes of Four Feather Falls (featuring the late Nicholas Parsons), 13 episodes of Supercar, 11 episodes each of Fireball XL5 and Stingray, as well as three other episodes of Thunderbirds and two episodes of Terrahawks. He was script editor for 25 of Thunderbirds’ 32 episodes.
He also wrote seven instalments of Thunderbirds, as well as a single episode each of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and UFO, and penned the story for The Avengers episode The Bird Who Knew Too Much.
