Dirk Maggs’ adaptation of William Gibson’s unmade Alien III script and Mark Morris’ updating of MR James’ A View From A Hill are in contention for the Best Fictional Storytelling award at the ARIAS.

Alien III features Lance Henriksen returning to the role of Bishop in Gibson’s proposed continuation of the saga that places very different emphases on parts of the Alien franchise. A View from a Hill was part of Bafflegab’s collection of MR James updates, The Conception of Terror. Also nominated was the Forest 404 podcast, featuring former Doctor Who companion Pearl Mackie.

Bafflegab’s Simon Barnard told SFB: “This is the first time we’ve been nominated in the ARIAS, and we’re thrilled to be in such illustrious company (Dirk Maggs! Pearl Mackie! Lance Henriksen!) And I’m sure that M.R. James himself would be tickled to know that a hundred years in the future, he’d be slugging it out with alien xenomorphs and Macbeth.”

The awards are being presented on March 4th at the London Palladium. The full list of nominees can be found here.
