René Auberjonois, best known to genre fans as Constable Odo in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, has died aged 79.

The veteran actor’s appearance in the third live action Star Trek series was just one of many character roles he played across his career, which included a long-running stint on comedy Benson, as well as voicing various characters for Disney.

Tributes have poured in for the much loved actor, who was always a delight to interview both on set during DS9’s run, and afterwards.
