Paramount are aiming for Legion and Fargo’s Noah Hawley to write and helm the next big screen adventure of the USS Enterprise crew.
The film will hopefully reunite the crew established in the 2009 feature, and is not connected to the proposed movie from Quentin Tarantino. No further details of a launch date for the fourteenth cinematic Star Trek has been given. Earlier plans for a time travel story, featuring Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as George Kirk from the first JJ Abrams movie, fell through last year.
Fans of the franchise are being well-served on the small screen, with Star Trek Discovery shooting its third year, the Picard series coming in January, and animated series Lower Decks on the horizon.
