Richard Williams, who was the animation director and created Roger and Jessica Rabbit for Who Framed Roger Rabbit? as well as the title sequences for two Pink Panther movies, has died aged 86.
The Guardian reports that he died on August 16. Inspired by seeing the Disney version of Snow White, he became an animator, winning a BAFTA for his first film, The Little Island; he later won an Oscar for his animated version of A Christmas Carol. His work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit? garnered him a BAFTA and two Oscars. His animation also featured in the 1967 version of Casino Royale, and according to his family, he was writing and animating until the day he died.
