Now that Avengers: Endgame has reset the board for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, details of the new TV shows started to emerge at ComicCon.
First up will be The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which pits the heroes against Zemo – this is set in the aftermath of Endgame with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. It will debut this autumn.
Spring 2021 will see Wanda Vision with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as the Scarlet Witch and Vision. This will have ramifications for the Doctor Strange sequel out in May 2021. “It’s going to get weird and we’re going to go deep and we’re going to find out what Wanda is like as Scarlet Witch,” Olsen told the Hall H crowd. The character of Maria Rambeau, seen as a child in Captain Marvel, will appear, now played by Teyonah Parris.
The Loki series will also appear next Spring, following the Trickster God after he disappeared during Endgame.
Jeffrey Wright will play the Watcher in the animated What If…? series. “The Watcher is non-earthly being who observes all things. He’s watching over the multi-verse and occasionally may or may not intervene with the doings of earthlings,” Wright explained.
The Hawkeye series is set for autumn 2021. “The fiber of what Hawkeye is, he’s a superhero without superpowers…and that means everyone is a superhero,” Jeremy Renner said.
