Prolific American scriptwriter Peter Allan Fields has passed away.

Probably best known for his contributions to Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space 9 – notably co-writing the teleplay for the episode The Inner Light of the former and the story for In the Pale Moonlight in the latter – Fields worked on many genre shows, including The Six Million Dollar Man, for which he contributed the script The Seven Million Dollar Man, regarded by many as one of the top episodes of the show.  He also wrote for The Man From UNCLE (including the episodes that became the feature film The Spy in the Green Hat), The Man From Atlantis, A Man Called Sloane, Knight Rider and Xena: Warrior Princess.
