Prop Store will hold its third cinema poster live auction this June, with the posters and artwork on offer expected to fetch in excess of £170,000 ($230,000). The auction is to be held at Prop Store’s UK headquarters in Hertfordshire.

Over 400 rare and sought-after posters and artworks will be sold during Prop Store’s cinema poster auction on Tuesday 25th June 2019, including artwork prepared for Doctor Who’s 30th anniversary.

The piece is described as “UK original Final Artwork commissioned by the BBC to celebrate the re-launch of Doctor Who in 1992/93 for the 30th anniversary. This painted Artwork was used for various products in the launch including press packs, synopses and posters. The design features various protagonists of the Doctor including a Dalek,  K-9, a Cyberman and Davros with the iconic Tardis in the centre. This unique piece has been custom framed with a laser cut mount board featuring the Doctor Who logo.”

Other auction highlights that are open to global bidding include:

– An extensive Carry On poster collection

– John Alvin poster artwork for Short Circuit (1986)

Star Wars,  Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet posters & memorabilia

– Over 60 James Bond lots will go under the hammer, including quad posters for Dr. No (1962), From Russia With Love (1963) and Goldfinger (1964)

–  Also up for auction are Charlie Chaplin, Star Wars, Batman And Star Trek autographs

The auction will host over 20 Carry On Lots including the rare, withdrawn Carry On Cleo (1964) Quad; an extensive horror poster collection including Hammer (1960-71), The Evil Dead (1981), A Nightmare On Elm Street (1985) and various limited edition Mondo posters; original artwork for Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope (1948),  The Evil Dead II (1987) and The Anniversary (1968)

Rare Quad posters include The Dam Busters (1955), Thunderbirds Are Go (1966), Bullitt (1968), Star Wars (1977-83), Day Of The Triffids (1962), Pulp Fiction (1994) and 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

Over 20 Clint Eastwood lots with posters from across the globe, including Dirty Harry (1971) and Where Eagles Dare (1968)
