Classic Doctor Who story The Daleks’ Masterplan, often regarded as the longest Doctor Who story ever, is being released on vinyl on Friday 15 February.
The story ran for 12 weeks in 1965/66, and had a special one-off prelude, Mission to the Unknown, a story that wasn’t just Doctor-lite but didn’t in fact feature any familiar characters bar the Daleks. Only three episodes of the 13 currently exist as film prints, but off-air audio recordings have been used to create this version.
‘We’re very excited about the first release in our ‘Vinyl Who’ collection – it’s a new way for fans to discover lost episodes of Classic Doctor Who.’ Ben Stanley, Head of Product & Marketing, Demon Music Group explained.
An Amazon exclusive edition will be limited to 1,000 units and is released on 12” Heavyweight Splatter Vinyl; the ordinary edition will be on Heavyweight Translucent Blue.
