British actor and ever-gracious gentleman William Morgan Sheppard has passed away aged 86, his son Mark has confirmed on social media.

An award winning stage actor, Sheppard was well known to genre fans for his appearances in Star Trek, Babylon 5 and Doctor Who. He played Ira Graves in Star Trek: The Next Generation’s The Schizoid Man, a Klingon in Star Trek VI and Qatai on Star Trek: Voyager as well as the Vulcan Science Minister in the 2009 Star Trek reboot; he was the eponymous Soul Hunter in the second episode of Babylon 5, and he played an older version of his son’s character Canton Everett Delaware III in Doctor Who’s The Impossible Astronaut. He was renowned as a voice artist, lending his talents to Biker Mice from Mars, Iron Man, Gargoyles and many more.

His other genre credits included Needful Things and the original live action Transformers movie, while on TV he was also seen on Quantum Leap, seaQuest DSV, Poltergeist: The Legacy, Charmed and The Librarians.
