Over 500 items were sold for an impressive £4.3m ($5.8m) at Prop Store’s London auction on September 20.
Indiana Jones’ (Harrison Ford) Signature Fedora set a world record memorabilia price for any piece of Indiana Jones memorabilia ever sold making £393,600 ($522,110 – including the buyers premium). Marty McFly’s Hoverboard (Michael J. Fox) from Back to the Future Part II (1989) sold for £36,900 ($48,965) A Wonka Bar from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1997) sold for £9,840 ($13,057) and a First Order Stormtrooper Helmet from Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) sold for £135,300 ($179,538) with all hammer price proceeds from this item donated to the UK’s leading children’s charity the NSPCC.
Hundreds of bidders from around the world gathered yesterday at the Prop Store’s live auction, which achieved outstanding results over 11 hours of exciting and intensive bidding. Over 500 rare and iconic lots were sold during Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction. Bids could be placed from anywhere in the world by phone, via online or in person.
The Prop Store auction was suitable for fans with a variety of budgets. Some of the least expensive lots in the auction included an SFX Crew Jacket from STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (2017) which sold for £615 ($815), and a pair of Olivanders Wand Boxes from HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER’S STONE (2001), which sold for £3,997 ($5,299).
Stephen Lane, Prop Store CEO commented on the auction: “Prop Store’s annual Entertainment Memorabilia auction has once again broken world records and given collectors an opportunity to acquire some amazing pieces of movie history. Having taken a year to curate the collection, it was exciting to see so many people in attendance and more bidders taking place than ever before.”
