Iconic British actress Fenella Fielding has died, aged 90 following a stroke.

The news was passed on by her friend Simon McKay.

Fielding’s career spanned over 60 years, with dozens of appearances on stage from the 1950s up to very recently. Genre fans remember her particularly from films including Carry On Screaming and Dougal and the Blue Cat, and TV shows such as The Avengers and The Prisoner. She attended the event last year at Portmeirion to celebrate 50 Years of The Prisoner reprising her role as the Village announcer. (Photo (c) Nick Joy)
