Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

JD Payne and Patrick McKay have been given the task of bringing JRR Tolkien’s Middle-earth to Amazon.

“The rich world that J.R.R. Tolkien created is filled with majesty and heart, wisdom and complexity,” Payne & McKay said in a statement following the announcement of their involvement at the Television Critics Association. “We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Amazon to bring it to life anew. We feel like Frodo, setting out from the Shire, with a great responsibility in our care — it is the beginning of the adventure of a lifetime.”

The pair have penned a fourth Star Trek movie script for JJ Abrams, and will be working with a writers’ room to bring the series to Amazon.
