Buffy the Vampire Slayer is getting a reboot, courtesy of Midnight, Texas’ Monica Owusu Breen and the slayer’s creator Joss Whedon.
The new series will have a black lead, according to reports. “Like our world, it will be richly diverse, and like the original, some aspects of the series could be seen as metaphors for issues facing us all today.” Owusu Breen will pen the script for the pilot and be showrunner for Fox 21 TV Studios if the series is picked up.
