American artist Steve Ditko has died, aged 90.
The co-creator of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange was found in his apartment in New York. He studied under Jerry Robinson at the Cartoonists and Illustrators School and met Stan Lee in 1955. The pair created many iconic characters for the developing Marvel Universe, but Ditko continued to freelance for many companies, spending time at DC, Charlton and indie companies as well as Marvel before his retirement.
