The trailer for the latest Halloween movie has been released by Universal – but this one resets the series.

Negating all the sequels – including the original Halloween 2 – by stating that the Halloween killer has been in captivity for 40 years, the new movie sees Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle return alongside  Judy Greer, Will Patton, Andi Matichak, and Omar J. Dorsey. Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride have crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film. Green also directs.

Halloween opens on October 19.
