Graham Strong, whose off-air recordings of Doctor Who in the 1960s mean that we have complete audio of the show from its very start, has died aged 79.

A Doctor Who fan from the first episode in 1963, Strong recorded many episodes with a line direct from the television, thereby ensuring there were no external sounds. These have been used extensively for the audio for the releases on CD, video, DVD and Blu-ray. More details about how Strong recorded the shows can be found here. Recently, Strong passed his archive of recordings to Doctor Who audio expert Mark Ayres.
