The Doctor Who Appreciation Society is holding a weekend event later this month – ‘The Capitol’ was originally organised to celebrate the Society’s 40th anniversary in 2016 and is now in its third year.
The guest list this time includes some old favourites and some lesser seen faces. Colin Baker, the Society’s president will be making his first appearance at the event, alongside William Russell, Nicola Bryant, Michael Jayston, fan favourites Anneke Wills and Katy Manning and – making a first appearance at a DWAS event for many years – Lalla Ward. Wendy Padbury is also returning to the UK for the event.
Well known improv-comedian (and almost but not quite the Eighth Doctor) Tony Slattery will host the Saturday evening entertainment which will also feature a charity auction supporting Deville House (the actor’s charity) as chosen by Lalla Ward and the Muswell Hill Syrian Refugee programme as chosen by Peter Capaldi.
Recognising that not everyone can afford to bid in an auction there will also be a raffle with the option to win some ‘Alister Pearson’ exclusives and the Society also has a very special item that will be made available for bids at the DWAS eBay site very soon.
The Doctor Who podcast ‘Diddly Dum’ will be broadcasting from the event too.
