Films and TV series in the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres dominated the Rakuten TV Empire Awards, given on March 18.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi was Best Film, won Best Director, had Best Actress (Daisy Ridley), and Best Costume Design.
Logan’s Dafne Keen – soon to be seen in His Dark Materials for the BBC – won Best Female Newcomer, while her co-star, Hugh Jackman, was Best Actor.
Get Out won both Best Screenplay and Best Horror Film, while Wonder Woman was Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Kingsman: The Golden Circle was Best Thriller, Coco was Best Animated Film, Beauty and the Beast won Best Hairstyling, and Guardians of the Galaxy won Best Visual Effects.
