Peter Miles, best known for his roles on Doctor Who including Davros’s right hand man Nyder in Genesis of the Daleks, has died aged 89.

Terry Molloy, who played Davros in the later classic serials, and appeared with Miles in the stage play The Trial of Davros and the Big Finish audios, tweeted
Miles also played Doctor Lawrence in Doctor Who and the Silurians, Professor Whitaker in Invasion of the Dinosaurs and Tragan in the Radio 5 serial Paradise of Death. He appeared as Rontaine in two episodes of Blake’s 7. His other genre work included Moonbase 3 and Doomwatch.
He was also an acclaimed stage actor, appearing with the Birmingham Repertory Company and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
