We’ve had Gotham without Batman, and Krypton minus Kal-El… Now DC are preparing a Metropolis series that won’t feature Clark Kent / Superman.
The series, from the team behind Gotham, is going to focus on Lois Lane and Lex Luthor and has been given a 13 episode direct to series order for DC’s new digital platform. The series will air in 2019.
“Set in the wondrous and awe-inspiring City of Tomorrow before the arrival of Superman, Metropolis, based on the DC characters, follows Lois Lane and Lex Luthor as they investigate the world of fringe science and expose the city’s dark and bizarre secrets.”
John Stephens and Danny Cannon penned the story which Stephens will script and Cannon will direct.
