The new version of Roswell is among the nine pilots that the CW has ordered for the new season.

The reboot, which will not as plans currently stand tie into the original show, sees the daughter of undocumented immigrants return to Roswell, New Mexico and discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance. Like the original series, the new show is loosely based on the boks by Melinda Metz.

Among the other eight are the Charmed reboot and the Wayward Sisters spin-off from Supernatural. Comedy SF pilot The End of the World As We Know It based on a book by Iva-Marie Palmer sees alien prisoners crashland on Earth and two millennials hired to seek them out.
