Writer David Fisher, who contributed four scripts to the Tom Baker era of Doctor Who, has died aged 88.
Fisher wrote for many different series during his career, including The Troubleshooters, Sutherland’s Law and Crown Court. He provided two stories for Graham Williams’ first season as Doctor Who producer – The Stones of Blood and The Androids of Tara – and worked with Douglas Adams on a script for the following season, A Gamble with Time. Fisher was unable to complete this and it became the basis for City of Death. He also wrote The Creature from the Pit for the same season. The year after, Fisher wrote the opening story for John Nathan-Turner’s first season as producer, The Leisure Hive. He wrote the novelisation of the latter two scripts for Target, and then penned new adaptations of his stories for BBC Audio’s narrated range.
His other genre work included an episode of Hammer House of Horror.
Being a bit pedantic here but he contributed 4 stories.
