Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Although it had been expected last year, Fox has finally given the green light to a second series of its X-Men based show, The Gifted.

The double-episode finale of the first season, devised by Burn Notice’s Matt Nix, will air on January 15 in which Dr. Campbell (guest star Garret Dillahunt) attends the Humanity Today summit, attempting to take the Hound program national, while some of the team at Mutant HQ go on a dangerous mission to stop his efforts. Then, the Mutant HQ comes under attack. With everything to lose, alliances shift and relationships are put to the test.

The renewal was delayed following the acquisition of Fox by Disney and uncertainty over what shows might continue. There’s no word yet on the fate of Fox’s other major genre show, The Exorcist.
