The rats are on the rampage in two classic 1970s horrors, Willard and Ben which make their UK home entertainment debut in newly restored versions complete with brand new special features (check out Nick Joy’s review here). They arrive together as a Limited Edition Blu-ray Boxset and as individual releases on DVD and Blu-ray, as well as on-demand and download courtesy of Second Sight Films – and thanks to those wonderful people at AIM, we have two sets on Blu-ray to give away.
Daniel Mann’s 1971 classic horror film Willard, based on Ratman’s Notebooks by Stephen Gilbert, inspired a new generation of horror films with animal predators and stars Bruce Davison as the eponymous Willard alongside Ernest Borgnine, Elsa Lanchester in one of her last ever appearances and Sondra Locke. With its world-famous theme song sung by the one and only Michael Jackson, Ben was originally released in 1972 and stars Lee Montgomery as Danny Garrison alongside Joseph Campanella and is directed by Phil Karlson.
Who will prevail in the battle of rat versus human? To find out, just answer the following simple question:
Which famous British horror writer penned a trilogy of tales featuring rats?
A) Stephen Volk
B) James Herbert
C) Shaun Hutson
Simply send your answer – A, B, or C – to scifibulletin@gmail.com with the subject line RATS along with your name and address and the following code (which will change regularly) 348, to arrive before 0001 on Monday November 6, 2017. This competition is only open to readers in the UK and Eire.
Willard and Ben are available now on Blu-ray and DVD from Second Sight, and as a box set.
