It looks as if the Divergent universe’s future will be on the small screen, courtesy of Starz.

What would have been the fourth movie, Ascendant, looks likely to be a miniseries on Starz, according to a report at Deadline, which suggests that the series is being written/executive produced by Adam Cozad and directed/executive produced by Lee Toland Krieger who were set to write and direct the movie version for Lionsgate. The film was designed to be the second half of the story told in the original novel, Allegiant.

It’s unknown if any of the movie stars would reprise their characters for TV. Last September, after the fourth movie’s future became uncertain, Shailene Woodley noted, “I signed up to tell the whole story of Tris, and I would love to be able to do that. Nothing would make me happier.” However later reports have suggested that she would not return.
