Spawn creator Todd McFarlane will be directing the new movie based on his character that’s coming from Blumhouse.
The proposed film comes twenty years after the last big screen rendition of the character. “No more theoretical … It’s coming. Get ready for it. We’re going into production,” McFarlane said in a video announcement at Comic Con. “Can’t wait to help Todd_McFarlane bring Spawn back to the big screen his way! Here we go.” was Blum’s response on Twitter, with McFarlane replying, “It’s gonna be BADASS!!!!”
The intention is for the movie to have a more appropriate R rating than the PG-13 the 1997 version received.
