They don’t give up – the pod people are making a fifth attempt at conquering the world, as news comes that Warner Bros. are planning another version of Jack Finney’s classic tale.

According to Deadline, David Leslie Johnson is penning the latest script which follows in the footsteps of the 1956 original, the 1978 version with Leonard Nimoy and Donald Sutherland, the 1993 film from Abel Ferrara, and the 2007 contribution starring Daniel Craig. There’s no word yet whether Johnson’s version will be contemporary or return to the paranoia of the 1950s that spawned Finney’s 1954 story.
