Baker’s End, Dan Dare and I, Robot were all honoured at the New York International Radio Program awards gala held on June 18.

Andrew Mark Sewell won the Best Director Gold Award for I, Robot while Baker’s End: Gobbleknoll Hall picked up the Gold Award for Best Audiobook.

The Asimov adaptation also took Silver for Best Drama Special. Dan Dare won Silver for Best Online Drama with Sewell also winning Silver in the Best Director.

‘Oh frabjous day..! To win gold again is amazing! And this script in particular has ALL my favourite things in it – giant cats, haunted houses, glam rock stars, ghost hunters and Tom Baker down the pub!’ Baker’s End writer Paul Magrs noted, while Andrew Mark Sewell commented, “Radio drama has always been an innovative medium in which to tell compelling and dramatic stories that inspire the listener’s imagination, without the need for extravagant Hollywood budgets. For B7’s work to be recognised with four awards is a brilliant testament to the talent and creativity of our cast and crew.”
