The first of Audible’s Alien saga, Out of the Shadows, has won the prestigious Audie Award for Excellence in Production.
The awards are given by the Audio Publishers Association and recognise all elements of the audio field. Out of the Shadows was adapted by Dirk Maggs from the novel by Tim Lebbon, with Rutger Hauer, Corey Johnson, Matthew Lewis, Kathryn Drysdale, Laurel Lefkow, Andrea Deck, and Mac McDonald.
It wasn’t the only SF title to win: John Scalzi’s The Dispatcher won Best Original Work, while Alan Dean Foster’s novelisation of the seventh Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, was the Best Science Fiction winner. The Galaxy Audio version of L. Ron Hubbard’s Battlefield Earth won the Excellence in Marketing award.
