Doctor Who writer Eric Pringle has died aged 82.
Pringle wrote the 1984 Peter Davison Season 21 story The Awakening, which featured the Malus. He had originally pitched the story to Robert Holmes back in 1975, and years later was commissioned to write a fourt-part version, which was eventually cut down to the two episodes broadcast, after rewriting by script editor Eric Saward. Pringle later novelised the story for Target.
Best known as a radio writer, among his many works, Pringle adapted Joan Aiken’s The Wolves of Willoughby Chase.
Oh, I’m sorry to hear this. The Awakening is a fantastic story.
