The Folio Society is releasing two versions of H.P. Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories, with a preface by Alan Moore.
There will be a core version (an exception just in itself) and a limited edition version (750 copies).
These new editions from The Folio Society marries Lovecraft’s best-known fiction with two modern masters of the macabre, the acclaimed artist Dan Hillier and author Alan Moore. In his beautifully crafted new preface, Moore finds Lovecraft at once at odds with and integral to the time in which he lived, ‘the improbable embodiment of an estranged world in transition’ yet, despite his prejudices and parochialisms, he ‘possessed a voice and a perspective both unique in modern literature’.

H.P. Lovecraft has not only influenced modern day authors, but has also influenced the gaming industry. Many RPG video games have taken influence including Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dragonborn, Shadowman, Dead Space, Fallout and the release later this year of Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game.

The Society is also releasing the third in their series of James Bond editions, with Ian Fleming’s sixth book, Dr No. This can be ordered here
