The eighth Harry Potter story, the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, has been given major recognition at the Olivier Awards, held on April 9, with the Groundhog Day musical also receiving awards.
The Harry Potter play, written by Jack Thorne from a story by JK Rowling, was nominated in 11 categories and won in a record 9 of them including Best New Play, Best Director (John Tiffany) Best New Actor (Jamie Parker), Best Supporting Actress (Noma Dumezweni) and Best Supporting Actor (Anthony Boyle). It also won Best Lighting Design, Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design and Best Set Design. Read our review here
