Sony’s movie based around the Marvel character Venom will be aiming for an R rating in the US, according to a report at Collider.
The site notes that the film will be scripted by Dante Harper, and is being seen the centre of an alternate Marvel Cinematic Universe. Venom will be released on October 5, 2018. Venom first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 back in May 1988, although the alien symbiote merged with Peter Parker in the Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars in 1984. Venom requires a human host and moved onto Eddie Brock, the former Scorpion, and Deadpool.
This isn’t the only Sony Marvel movie in pre-production: Chris Yost is also working on the script for a Black Cat and Sable spin-off.
