Former Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Atlantissiddig and Game of Thrones star Alexander Siddig will play the villainous Ra’s Al Ghul on Fox’s Gotham.

He will make his debut as the head of the League of Shadows when the show returns from hiatus in April in the US as young Bruce Wayne continues his investigation into the Court of Owls.

Ra’s Al Ghul has appeared on screen numerous times in recent years, with Liam Neeson playing the role in Christopher Nolan’s Bat trilogy, and Matt Nable taking the part on the CW’s Arrow.

At present there has been no confirmation as to Gotham’s start date in the UK.
